Rotterdam Philharmonic Gergiev Festival

Ocean liners and river barges, bumboats, flatboats and packet boats: the Port of Rotterdam already was a busy junction between the Sea and the City a century ago. Many film makers were inspired by steam clouds and bow waves, sailors and those seeing them off. Geert Bierling and Bert Mooiman accompany live a compilation of historic port images.
